Unhappy New to the LS1 Thang and need some help!

I have a 98 that I believe the PCM is fried on.. Anyone know of a place to get one rather cheap or if anyone has one up for grabs??

I got the P0601 DTC after the tune was installed. It was running fine the all of the sudden it will not start it just turns over. I don't think the injectors are firing at all. I have flashed the car back to stock and still no luck..

With that P0601 code, does it for sure mean the PCM is done? I am trying to locate a stock tune file now to try and flash the PCM back to stock to see if the tune was corrupt

Your best bet is to just grab a 2002 PCM and repin it. 98 PCM is no good.

How simple is it to replace with a newer PCM? Just repin the harness or is there other things involved?

You can buy them ready to swap or you can get one and just pin it yourself. There are all kinds of things about it here on tech.

Yeah, you could repin the 98 harness to match the 99-02 PCM. It's about a days worth of work to do from what I've read on here. 99-02 PCMs are "faster" and have a bit more memory... Not sure how much power you are pushing though.
