x2, sad indeed.
Another fact that bothers me is ******** just drive away from **** like nothing happened. At 2-3am it would be hard to see someone at night esp on a busy highway/holiday and sometimes accidents happen. Sadly in this case the driver of the truck will prob get away and was probably drinking.

WHY?
Most of you won't agree with me on this, but I believe that EVERYONE should take a 4 hour refresher course to renew your drivers liscense. Mostly because of crap like this and most people don't know of new laws that went into effect since the last time they took a driving course.

The guy that hit him was more than likely drunk. How could a refresher class benefit a drunken driver??

Similar thing happened in Austin and it's an up-hilll battle to prove the person knew what happened and wasn't sober.

Based on what I've heard from our 3rd party liasons, was headed here to do some work. I doubt alcohol had anything to do with it but I could be wrong. He was born in 1985.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office is reporting that Joshua Kirkland, the driver of a red Corvette, died after a hit and run wreck around 4:15 a.m. on Monday morning. The Corvette driver had lost control of his car at high speed on westbound Highway 290 near Jones Road, crashed into the inside retaining wall, and ended up in a lane of moving traffic. Joshua Kirkland initially got out of his wrecked car, went over to the shoulder of 290, but then returned to his Corvette.
When Joshua Kirkland got back to his car, a Ford F-150 pickup truck suddenly slammed into him and the Corvette. The driver of the pickup truck pulled over to the side of the highway, but then fled on foot leaving his Ford F-150 truck behind. Westbound lanes of U.S. 290 remained closed until after 10 a.m. as authorities investigated and cleared the hit and run wreck. Authorities are looking for the driver of the Ford F-150 pickup truck. (Sources: Robert Stanton, Houston Chronicle; click2houston.com; and KTRK abc13.com, 12/31/12)
The grieving family and friends of Mr. Kirkland have the deepest sympathies of our Harris County accident attorneys as they face this tragedy on New Year's Eve.
