Default Would a ticket lawyer be able to help me?

The other night I was driving on I-45 at around 1:00am. So no, there were no other cars around me. Anyways, I wanted to have a little fun in the vette, so I gunned it. Well, just my luck, a cop was on the side of the road with his lights off. My radar never went off, but he put on the ticket he clocked me. He was a really cool guy because he didn't arrest me, but I still got the ticket.

He got me for going 132 in a 65. This was in League City. I was told by several people to get a ticket lawyer since it's such a high rate of speed. Would a ticket lawyer really be able to do anything for me? If so, do you guys have one you would recommend?

I've used David Sprecher (google it) a few times with great success.

I might have considered it if I weren't in my hometown at the time. My car doesn't exactly blend in to the crowd. They would have seen it again at some point.

Did you admit guilt to the cop? A lot of times you can get off on a technicality

David Sprecher only does Houston and Harris county I believe but you can try:

David Sprecher
2205 Montrose Blvd.
Houston, TX
(713)639-2600

Last ticket I had was in Pasadena and Robert J. Barfield got mine dismissed without having to show up. And he works all the courts in and around Houston.

Robert J. Barfield
Toucan Alley Building
609 Bradford Ave. Ste. 207
Kemah, TX 77565
(713)941-1329

..and Houston location:

Robert J. Barfield
2016 Main Ste. 102
Houston, TX 77002
(713)222-0550
(713)759-9577 fax

Not sure with that speed if you will need a criminal lawyer. But try with those two and see what they say or who they can recommend.

132 in a 65? Be happy he didn't arrest you.

I've gone with Sullo & Sullo for years now. I've been lucky to be in and out of the court house in less than an hour with dismissed tickets.

League City just wants your money.Ask me how I know.Been plenty of times we could have all been hauled in but they just want your money. You can get a lawyer but if its your first time I would show up and go through the assembly line (You'll see what im talking about when you get there)

Get a lawyer and see if he can get you deferred adjudication for this ticket...its going to be up to the Judge/prosecutor. I had a similar incident in round rock/Williamson county, except it was a reckless driving and exhibition ticket. I wasn't racing anyone, but I was hauling the mail. I would have been fucked with out a lawyer and that ending up on my driving record.

I wouldn't take any chances and would definitely lawyer up with a good lawyer. 132 in a 65 is considered wreckless driving, and that's a big deal. Your insurance could double if they don't drop you all together, it's almost as bad as a DWI

Terri Granger (sp?) She used to have an office in the RR area, not sure if she still does. I have been in NW Houston for the last 4 years.

Tell the judge it's a new car and that you mistook the tachometer for the speedometer. You thought you were doing between 70-75.
