Default Getting Registered in TX

Im obviously new to texas, and Im not exactly sure what all I need to do.

The inspection is good till march, which I'll take care of that. But as far as getting it transfered and such, how and where do I take care of that?

Thanks

130U form, signed title owner/lien holder, possibly a release of lien statement from the bank if there was lien...My experiences have varied from tax office to tax office, from easy to royal pain in the ***, ******* worthless bureaucrats. If the car was in a non-emissions county and you will reside in an emissions county, then will need a new inspection.

I now just have a title service do it for me, most charge anywhere from 50-100 bucks to do it for you. You just hand them the title, copy of insurance and 130U form signed by you and the seller.

I think it has to pass state inspection first as well and they have to give you a green form? or something of that nature

Yes it is called a green sheet, most inspection places wil do it for u. On my 72 (classic they checked headlights, brake/tailight and barakes) GL I don't think it is that bad here in Texas.

The green sheet is called V-I30 and you would need that if it was coming from out of state.

its in Bexar county, and staying in county.
Im gonna just get the inspection renewed after i get the car in my name since its still in.

The tax lady emailed me back today with the 130U or whatever, and said i needed that signed by me and him. Then pay the Car tax, and two other things totals up to 430 bucks.

You have to get the car inspected and get a green slip before you can transfer an out-of-state title. The inspection is $14.50 and the green slip(which is actually pink) is $1.00.

Ah. My bad. It sounded like you were trying to register an out-of-state title into Texas.

your car need to be registered/inspected/insured in TX before you can get a drivers license.... or when they ask you if you have a car, you just say 'no'.
