Question Golf Carts?

I've been considering the purchase of a gas golf cart. Something to scoot around the 'hood in, and to get around pit areas at car events. Any of you guys have some knowledge of golf carts? It seems Club Car and EZ-GO are the popular brands. Anything to avoid?

Anyone have good contacts for used/rebuilt golf carts? Lifted with 4 seats is what I'm after.

I have bought a couple in Tomball from Denise. Her and her husband sell nothing but golf carts on craigslist. I have a clubcar and ezgo both electric, the club car is 10x nicer than the ezgo hands down. I had a gas ezgo before and didnt have any problems with it, but after getting the club car I wont buy another ezgo. Gas ones are getting harder and harder to find.

I like those, but not the price. About triple what a custom gas golf cart costs. I'm not going offroading.

I work a lot of Motorsports events and we always rent golf carts at every race we go to. Ez go and club car are the best by far. Both run amazing and can take a beating. You looking to customize any or roll it stock?

It will be lifted and have some wheels on it. Custom.

That Viper one looks cool, but nah.

Tony,

There is a pretty large place in Alvin that sells ATVs and I'm pretty sure they have Club Car stuff.

I've never been there, so I have no idea if their prices are good or if they even stock what you are looking for, but it may be worth a phone call to find out.

It's called UV Country.

A quick google search turned up something in your neck of the woods. Conroe Golf Cars

Craigs list has a lot of them. I traded my 6x14 utility trailer for a EZ-GO a couple of weeks ago. I was asking $1500 for the trailer, guy was asking $1800 for the cart. I had about $900 tied up in the trailer, spent about $250 so far on the cart, got me a decent deal, I think. The cart I got is just a plain golf course cart. Had to put lights, horn and mirrors on it so I can ride it around the neighborhood. Along with new tie rods and rear leaf spring bushings. Oh yea and it's 36v electric. I dont plan on riding fast or far with it.

LSX, your car is just about perfect. The black ones look the best.

Any of them pretty much. My golfcart pictured above is a 48V electric, it goes 19mph with 4 people on it. It pulls a car with ease, electric ones have more torque. My 36v ezgo could pull a car but it is way slower and has alot less power then my 48v clubcar.

Gas Carts are way to much money, we looked for a few years and gave up and bought an electric one. Try and find one with new batteries if you can. We just replaced our batteries and our cost is about $600 bucks. But, we use ours everyday around work. Grapevine Carts do have some badass carts over there. Ours has a lift with a texas flag paint job and bought it in 2010 for about $3500, I believe it's a 99 model.

Not interested in an electric, because I may have this thing on week long trips and I don't want to hassle with charging it up. Would be good to tow behind me for Hotrod Power Tour next year(s).

Hit up Golf Carts of Houston on 45 between West Rd and Aldine. They have a huge selection inside you can really see up close, sit in it, and all that jazz.
