Default Shop to LS swap an SN95?

Does anyone here know of a shop that won't bend me over to swap an LS1/t56 into an SN95 cobra? I'd like it to be as clean as possible and make it my daily driver, Air conditioning and all

Fairly easy swap if you have time and patience. I'm doing one in my SN95 right now too.

How much do you have to spend to pay someone to do the swap?

You looking at a couple grand if you supply all of the parts depending on how you want it done. Now a regular shop doing it probably 10k.
Bad CHad did his own sn95 before he pulled the ls stuff out and went full tilt with a 1100+ hp 565

I'll text chad tomorrow, last time I talked to him he said he'd do it for $1500, which seems to be an awesome price, but he was very reasonable about installing my cam and clutch as well, so I guess he's just an awesome guy? I have to sell my C5 first but I should have about 10K after I buy an LS1/T56 combo, so I should be in the clear, but I'm going to try and do a heads cam package while I'm in there. Anyone who has done this, what did you do for the Master and hydraulics? The car is a 95 so there's no hydroboost or anything.

I loved his white cobra, he started it up when I was there to pick up my car last time, he even had the factory gauges working as well, it was a clean car for sure.

As far as the hydraulics go, you could Frankenstein your current pedal or purchase the McLeod conversion set up from late model restoration (50resto.com) or get ahold of a set of 5spd thunder bird pedals but those are damn near extinct

What's wrong with paying someone else to build it?

$1500 is a hell of a deal. I have done several swaps and wouldn't touch it for that. There is nothing wrong with paying someone else to do it. That's how some of us pay for our hot rods. You should just go with who does it for a fair price and not look for someone will do it almost free. That usually turns out bad for you.

Yep I wouldn't jack with it for $1500 thats dirt cheap. Hell you can't get a shop to swap a motor for that in a fbody that came with an ls1.

I guess I should update this, I went and looked at my cobra, it turns out I forgot how much more work it needed than just a motor and transmission, so I'm gonna keep the C5. As for chad, he's good people, I mean I realize shops have to make money, but the prices I got quoted to just install parts that I had bought was just outrageous, chad charged me a third of what they wanted and had it back 3 days later, can't ask for more than that honestly.

Personally the swaps are easy for me, I have done many of them for family and friends.

Now days companies sells just about all the parts to where you just bolt everything in an go. Sometimes I do wish I would have left the SN as a LS3 car but it still turned out bad *** with my co-partner with the 565BBC.

BigFatLS6 will be coming out with a really nice LS swap coupe here pretty soon.
