Wanting more N/A hp
Bought a LS2 out of a Trailblazer, wanting to keep it n/a though. Going into a '55 Ford pickup, what's the best way? Port out or change the heads, change the manifold to a ls1,2,3,6,or7, cam size. Wanting a good thumper that gets better mpg than my 383 carbed one that's in there now. Thanks in advance to all that reply. L8R DFLASH

I actually am switching out cams in my LS2 (414ci) stroker.. It has 2000 mi on it... Power throughout... very nice manners on the street. Idles right at 900 rpm no surging, hunting for idle... PM me if interested...
Comp LSR 239/247 .624 .624 114lsa.... PM me if interested...
Here is my car from this past weekend. It's the black C5Z.... The Jotech GTR did me in during the final B class round....

Full exhaust, higher stall converter, and a tune would absolutely destroy that 383 in the power dept. Ill only guess that if you stay efi the mileage of the ls2 will be better also.
Ive done the cam swap then head swap thing. If I were you I'd get the stock castings ported by TEA and get a custom grind cam to complement the heads. The cam in my truck has a 114 lsa. It has some lope to it.
I can also tell you after the head swap the engine pulled a vacuum on my tbss intake.
I'd think about the rectangle ports if I was more interested in strip performance.

My ls2 C6 I had made 513 whp with TF225 heads,G-Force Motorsports Cam, and Fast 102 intake.. Stock injectors and stock TB..
Ls3 heads, ls3 intake, and a cam would not make anywhere near the power but would be significantly cheaper..

Derrick, give me a shout. My 402 blower motor and blower cam I specd made 490rwhp on a lower compression motor on a 118+2lsa cam. Put an NA cam in that blower compression motor, 500+ with ease.
I'll stop by Houston Country Club in the next couple days and come chat at the pool if you get time.
