Thanks, I agree. That was probably the only time I truly regretted selling a car, and did so in 1999 so I could get the equity out of it and use to get married. I plan to have another C4 someday, my goal is to have one from each generation, except maybe C1 and C2, which are getting out of sight as far as cost to buy one (one that is worth buying).
I know a guy that is shooting that statement all to hell. He is literally building a 56 for nearly free. A lot of time wheeling and dealing and scoring cheap parts but last I checked he had a free LS1 and trans, tube chassis and all C4 suspension along with a complete body for free. Can you die from jealousy?

171 in mostly stock c5 just an intake the brakes were bad. I mean bad slowing it down pretty scary
And much worse 162 on the bully dog of a 2008 lmm duramax stock suspension but the speedo was between N and D gotta love diesels too

Been 200+ quite a few times. Only on good runs will other cars and a couple of test hits. But most runs are done by 175-185ish but if its close some of us will stay in it to finish the run. Been behind mullet and another GT when they hung it out on one of those 225 runs lol!

speedo maxed at 150, next to a buddys cobra (sn) body, he said between 160-167. pretty fast. when i had my bike i seen 175 in 4th and had two more to go.... that was good enough.
