Black G8, noisy exhaust, polished wheels from Baytown area with a GoPro mounted...
On my way to work this morning in Baytown, Spur 330 to 146 to 225 and saw a Black G8 scooting down Spur 330 around 85-90mph or so as I was coming onto the entrance ramp. As I got closer I noticed he had a GoPro mounted on the drivers side of the car and the little red light was blinking LOL. Heard a loud exhaust, so figured he would be game to mess around a little for a spirited drive to work.
Due to traffic we only really had one chance to get side by side and do a little 50 to about 110 roll action. I heard him jump so I jumped and we're off. I had maybe a fender on him at the start and he was very very slowly reeling me in, and was still maybe half a fender back as we hit the brakes due to traffic.
I have to assume it had a few mods, besides the noisy a$$ exhaust.
Here's the thing. I have a 2014 Mustang GT premium, fully loaded, Automatic with only the factory 3.15 gears. On top of the car being absolutely bone stock, I was on a full tank of 87 octane fuel and had another 100 lbs of junk in the trunk. The only time I took this car to the track it went a best of 13.05@109 mph, again absolutely bone stock except at that time it was on about 1/4 tank of 93 octane. I can't imagine it being on 87 with the weight of a full tank and stuff in the trunk that it would be much faster than 13.30s-13.40s.
What I find funny is this black G8 had a GoPro on the side of the car at 5:20am on his way to work I presume. If he had a GoPro going he must think he's fast LOL. I'm sorry but if you can't pull away from a bone stock Coyote on 87 octane trash fuel and 3900 lbs, then you aren't fast LOL. I would consider my car fairly quick considering it is bone stock, but not fast enough to justify putting a GoPro on the side for a ride to work ha ha.
This is my daily and below is the race car.

Who knows, being an LS based car I figured he might have been a member here LOL. I don't know much about those G8s. Someone on another forum said they've seen some run 12.90s bone stock but who knows. All I can say is my 2014 is bone stock and went 13.05@109 on 1/4 tank of 93 with no spare. I'm guessing the G8 was a low 13s to high 12s car. I know when I first started racing my old 90GT, I was running 12.teens@108-110 mph setup for the track with suspension and converter.

They also come in the v6 flavor...I'll be running my buddies 2011 roush stg2 soon. I still think stock for stock the ford will win. It would be close. 360hp and 4100lbs vs 414hp and whatever it weighs. I ran an isf, that car got me the 3rd time around. First two times he said he missed shifting. They produce a decent hp and he had full exhaust.
G8's are nice, but in stock form they aren't incredible or anything. I love my car personally, but I know it's limits.

Everyone has got to start somewhere, LOL. I remember when a 12 second street car was considered blazing fast. LOL.

Yes, I found it kind of humorous, but I was game to play around LOL. I think I saw the car again yesterday exiting 146 back onto spur 330, no go pro this time LOL.

My wife's G8 ran 13.05@107 with a canned Superchips tune, everything else was stock. 4185lbs with me in it. -400' da at RPR the night I ran it.. I was impressed with it for what it was...
