DMS Racing's 24 Hours of Lemons team looking for members (for Eagles Canyon) DMS Racing is looking for drivers, crew members, and supporters to compete in the Lemons race at Eagles Canyon on Feb 28 - Mar 1. Anyone interested in helping out with the team is welcome to attend our kickoff meeting, which will be December 4th 7pm at Dallas Makerspace in Carrollton.
We already have a built out 1990 240sx that we ran in the 2014 Eagles Canyon race and has been sitting in storage since then, so most of all the hard work is done. There will still be plenty of improvements and fixes to make to thar car. The day before the previous race the flywheel literally feel off on track (4 bolts to crankshaft backed out, 2 sheared off, note that we did not install or service the flywheel after getting the car... Probably why we were able to buy the car for $500). But we were able to drop the transmission and replace the flywheel/clutch and successfully crossed the finish line with a running car.
This is a project being hosted and partially funded by Dallas Makerspace, a non profit communicty workshop / laboratory / hackerspace. We just recently moved into a 17,000 sq ft office space and no have a larger dedicated automotive work area that we will be using to work on the car. Anyone wanting to join the team would need to become a DMS member ($50 / month), which grants you 24/7 access to the makerspace and access to the huge list of tools (machine shop, 120W laser cutter, CNC router, metal fabrication / welding shop, automotive work area and tools, fully furnished wood working room, 3d printing / fabrication, etc). Everyone is free to come by and check out the space, we have a weekly open house with tours every thursday.

And a fine job you did, sir.
Endurance racing was a hoot.
The weeks of preparation and strategizing was the most fun.
Anyone who decides to be a part of the team will not be disappointed. It is such a rush to participate ... even more fun to win!
