Default 418ci build in DFW?

Looking for a buddy, he wants to have an LS3 based 418ci built. How would you recommend and for the record I DO NOT want Thompson Motorsports doing the work. Thanks.

I was going to suggest them. Billy is a great guy, I wouldn't take my Camaro anywhere else!

They have done many ls motors for turbo builds and nitrous.
Recently finished my ls3 for my 2010 camaro, running good, knowledgable people.

Just wonder why not Thompson Motorsports? Bad experience? I have never got a motor from them but they do have some good pricing

Billy does not have a machine shop. He can get your an engine but he does not actually build it.

Kimm Barr is the machine shop (and builder for some) for most of the major performance shops in DFW. Name the major LS shop in the Dallas area, and Kimm machines/builds for them.

we already ordered them they are built by Sunset Racing. Most LS built engines in DFW have mentioned Kimm Bar but mixed reviews again I asked around for 6 months before we pulled the trigger for a fact I can list 3 people with nightmares coming out of Thompson Motorsports and it was 50/50 with Kimm Bar. When it comes to my engine I'll judge by my buddy's engines. $$ isn't a problem on my part just a well put together engine.

Money no object build, the truly best in the area is Reher Morrison. At that point expect, bryant cranks, Oliver rods, JE Pistons, and heads touched by Darin Morgan. It'd be a haus... But it'd be pricey!

Why not use Texas Speed? I've learned my lesson using Jim Bob and Billy Ray type shops
