Default dyno time

Who in the Houston or surrounding areas offers dyno time for "rent?" I'm looking to finish up my higher boost level settings on the dominator ECU and would prefer to get them dialed in on a dyno. I will have my tuner remote plugged into my laptop to help dial the final settings in so I don't need a tuner just an operator while we get everything lined out.

Is this viable or a pipe dream?

I have talked to several shops and all of them that I spoke with will rent there dyno for $100 an hour. The problem with that is, I am slow at tuning so it would cost me the same as hauling down to Victoria and paying Pat to do it. I never spoke to them about how much the dyno operator would cost an hour.

Makes sense. Luckily I'm using a dominator so tuning isn't really what I need, it's just a set of rollers. I'm basically looking for a controlled Environment to do some WOT runs. I'll have my "tuner" hooked up just so he can keep an eye on the logs.

Late Model Racecraft, Serious HP, HP Motorsports, and KP Racing are all great places to ask.

Hope your remote tuner has a fast connection, $100/hour adds up fast. Most shops I've asked charge a small fee for a few back to back pulls with dyno only, add a small surcharge for their wideband readings.

On the northside I think Fast Lane will rent their dyno for what you need.

2 hrs or 10 pulls is the most it would take. This is a dominator. Not much in the way of tuning is needed. It's more monitoring than anything.

I spoke with Troy at KP today and they charge $125 an hour to rent it out. Might be cheaper to just let Joe finish up my high boost settings.

If that's the case a rent out sounds a lot better.

Oh I gotcha. Holley has gotten some nice reviews lately.

Did you jump straight to the dominator or have you tried their simpler systems? I've been looking into their basic systems for a swap.

Straight into a dominator. I would suggest you hold out for one. The 4 in/outs the HP offers gets used up really quickly.

I know a lot of people aren't fans of chuck. Not saying one way or another but I seen he just got a new dyno. Might be worth asking him since u are tuning it yourself. He is having a dyno day on the 3rd I think. $40 a car. I know you couldn't get ur tune in with one or 2 pulls. Just a heads up

Yeah I heard about that event. I guess it would be worth a conversation. I need a friend with a dyno..
