Custom Header Work
Does anyone know of someone that does custom header work? I have a 65 Chevelle and I had tried to run American Racing Headers b/c they came highly recommended. However, they are not fitting.
I had to send back my American Racing Headers the other day. They would not fit on my 65. They are hitting on my steering shaft, and also hitting on the floor pans and not able to line up on the cylinders. I am using Dirty Dingo DD mounts w/ the Energy Suspension short and wide engine mounts.
American Racing Headers are trying to help, but with the fitment issue. However, I would have assumed that this type of issue would have been seen by now. I have contacted Heddman and they want me to raise the engine to be able to fit their headers, which I do not want to do b/c I will be running a Super Vic intake, and would like to keep the motor as low as possible for hood clearance.
Can you guys recommend any companies that might have a header that would work for the 65 or if I could find a guy that would do custom headers?

A custom fab'd set of stainless headers won't come cheap, expect to double your investment of the American racing headers. Have you followed this build?

Correct mounts and corresponding off the shelf headers should get you close without the need for anything custom.
