Default Difference in L76 & LS2 Block Help

I need some help guys, Im putting together a G8 with cam and ported heads, problem is I have run into the same issue, the cam and cam bearings are being trashed after all is back together, I leaning on the cam bore is out and making the cam rollers turn, after motor was put all back together ran for maybe 20 mins we heard a sound shut her down drain the oil and dropped the pan found shavings in the pan. After inspecting the parts we notice that the cam lobs didn't line up with the roller so with all this being said, is the L76 blocks different from the LS2 blocks meaning the way the cams are in the blocks. Thanks for the help

Default

sounds like you left off the cam retainer plate

All LSx cams "line up" in the same positions
