The original Mustang 5.0s were really 4.9s. They pushed the number up because they probably knew that sounded .

The engineers of the Coyote engine made a specific point of making it an actual 5.0 the second time around.

Too bad no 4.9s are around down there to take you up. I'd like that video. Maybe post on SVTP but be prepared for shenanigans to show up if anything. They'll talk a big game about how amazing the 4.9 once was but them Furd boys know they need to stack the deck.
It is going to be driven a lot so it is just getting a mild heads, cam, LS1. The car itself will be getting some suspension upgrades and a lot of sound deadening. As with all of my cars, a smooth quiet drive is priority one.

and third gens sounds like a hookers box spring. Last Iroc i built i sprayed that black rubberized stuff then a layer of dynamat. added quite a bit of weight but quieted it down quite a bit.

Clean as a whistle. A "mild" H/C LS1 should still be fairly violent in there.

What trans?

My 99 SS creeks like a hookers box spring too lol. I'm not sure if it's the 76k mile stiff 1LE springs or the what looks to be factory poly sway bar bushings. Speed bumps or driveway entries sound like a wooden ship.

4L80E and a 3200 stall. It is not the easiest thing to do but you can find F bombs and foxes that don't rattle like crazy. Just about anything I have gotten into that is that old rattles like hell.

Hell, I do that to TH350's. Room is not in your favor but it ain't as bad as a Fox or New Edge with headers.

The th350 never gave me issues, the th400 was already cut and the 80 had to be cut and I ran the cross member from the sub frames because the mount sits so far back.

It looks like I found a collector gracious enough to bring out a nice example of a stock 1989 5spd Mustang. I hope to post video on Saturday.

Shame when you have trouble finding stock 85-92 cars to run. Or is it? Lol

I have ford guys swearing that the fox body dominated say in and day out and then there are the guys that swear their buddy's Iroc z was king. I just know some were done right and won and others not so much.

The SS is currently the stockest thing I own, but I have had stock 305 third gens. 16.50 1/4 mile times that would blow your mind. Lol
