Texas Mile
Got a funny story. Tell me what you think. LMR has the standing mile record for a Corvette. So, at this last event, Joe Honeycutt(the tuner for LMR when they set the record 5 years ago) approached the powers that be at the mile. Stating: when LMR set the record 5 years ago at 232 in the standing mile I (Joe Honeycutt) worked for LMR. I (Joe) have since opened my own shop where we can only go 229 MPH on fire. So, I (Joe Honeycutt) think you should transfer the owner of the record to me and my shop. Tell me if I explained well enough and if I did. WTF...?

My wife won a relay race back in elementary school and now wants them to change her award so it has her married name on it….just saying! That's absurd, if they were your sponsor at the time then so be it.

I think that if its a big enough deal to be the fastest corvette standing mile, which probably a handful of people in the world even care about. Then you need to go back out and break the record so their is not any confusion on who holds the title, wherever this record is kept.

I (joe whoever) was once partially involved in breaking a texas mile record. At that time i was covered under LMRs company insurance, i pulled a paycheck and worked out of their shop. Since then ive decided that im superman made my own shop and now all should pay hommage to me. However i cant understand how they wont discredit the other people involved in creating the record and make me the sole record holder even tho now that im not with the LMR boys i personally can only go 229? Guuuuuyyyyyssss why wont they give my my title?

Especially with that head wind at the last event. I think 80% of the cars ought to just run 1/2 mile passes until they are ready for a plaque run or conditions are like they prefer. That way people can get all of their ducks in a row before they get in the mile passes. Totally unrelated to this thread's original topic. I waited well over four hours to watch an orange YSI Charged Camaro make a pass.
