Don't laugh... no really Fiero GT swap advise wanted
I bought my wife a 1986 Fiero like she once had and and really enjoyed. We have quite a collection of low budget cars we like going so I thought I would add another. Anyhow, as you all know these cars are not dragstrip rippers and I am not looking to make one of it. I just want enough power to make it fun to drive without tearing up the transaxle constantly. There are two swaps I am considering because I want to stay V6 and gain HP Tuners support. I would like to find a DOHC 3.4L Z34 donor car or a series 2 3.8L supercharged donor car, also HP Tuner compatible. What I would like to find from you guys or possibly someone you all know with one of these already done so I can see one in person. Thanks for any help.

Yes sir, and they are a lot more common than the 3.4L DOHC (also HP tuner compatible). I just thought the 3.4 would make a really cool turbo platform. Rumor has it the that little motor made 275hp until GM had too detune before production for a lack of a strong trans axle.

I have done a sbc/standard & auto trans, 4.9 Cadillac/auto trans, 3800sc/auto trans, LS4/auto trans all in different Fieros. For the money 3800sc is the best bang for the buck and the least amount of fab work. There a few guys who make swap harness for the 3800sc that makes it super easy.
For a quick fun ride the 3800sc is great, but your going to be maxxed out at 350-375hp unless you drop some coin on cam, pulley, headers.

Mostly looking for a car around the Houston area to reference as I build. I am sure I will get it figured out one way or another. I am finding supercharger kits even for the non-supercharger motors so I may do one of those with a turbo. I really want to play around with a turbo setup. I can remember some really fun times driving a four cylinder T-bird turbo coupe. Laaaaaaag....booooost, shift. LOL
