Default 98 Camaro Losing Fuel pressure when turned off

Good Day fellow Tech members!

I have posted this in the Fuel section already but I know alot of us dont really browse other section than the "Texas Section"

So........

I recently bought a 98 Camaro SS with a couple of mods done to it.

When it comes to the fuel system it does have a Racetronic fuel pump with hotwire kit, aftermarket fuel rails with a gauge and 42# Green Tops.

When I bought the car I was told it had an issue but they were not sure if was a fuel issue or valve floating. From what I've noticed usually when I turn off my car with about a quarter tank the pressure decreases at a decent pace.

When I turn off the car and it has more than half a tank, the pressure decreases at a slower pace than with less gas.

Either way its losing pressure and I know 98 Fbody fuel system are different from 99-02.

I tried doing some research on the FPR ( Fuel Pressure Regulator ) and I want to say this is the issue. If this is the issue is there a good replacement for it due to them going out so often? ive also seen some say use a corvette fuel filter setup but im not too clear on what to do.

Any suggestions, opinons or .02 cents would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you.

I have a 98 and The fuel pressure regulator is in the tank . Does it take a while to start ? or does it start first turn ? I know there a check valve that closes on the pump i believe that's supposed to hold the pressure in the line.

If it starts up fine and has pressure while running I dont see a problem . But only way to see and fix that issue would be to pull the pump an inspect.

Yes it is that's why I said there's a check ball valve inside the tank I believe yours probably bad . That's why I asked if it takes more than once to crank over cuz once you start priming it it should be no problem because the pump is pushing fuel to the rails

What type of regulator is it? My Aeromotive FPR loses pressure at a good pace after shut down, but they clearly state in their notes that the regulator is not designed to hold pressure. In fact, I think most aftermarket FPR dont hold pressure.
