When I see a pit with 2 inch long legs I feel like i'm looking at a Dashund, english bulldog, pit. And I don't get it; is it just me or does it seem that the breeders are shifting toward making them all have tiny stub legs?

I have to admit, I never have been a fan of the bullies. Personal preference. I like the working/game dog looks of a true bulldog (pit bull)

I guess that's the terminoligy I am looking for, I think the bullies look retarded. I have a pit, and he looks like what I assume you are calling a game/working dog... aka normal. My pit is very lean and very very agile, I can't see how they could be agile (useful) with those really short legs. After all, the dog was bred as a gaming dog, so by definition those stub leg dogs aren't really a pit.

No. That's why those educated will refer to them as bullies, or American Bullies. Bully breeds are a huge fad. The gotti, razor edge etc are lines of the bullies.

One thing to remember though guys is that there are several different types of American bullies. Originally, when the American bully was created, they were bred to be super athletic...but with more mass. I believe they call it classic. Now there are many breeders who breed the stubby unathletic dogs but they should not all be classified as the same because they are not all the same. I have two american bullies and they are not too similar. But I must admit they are two of the most athletic dogs I've ever seen with a good mix of strength and agility.

I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers or anything I just wanted to remind you guys that not all American bullies have 2 inch legs and look like pigs, lol. Some do, but most of them actually don't. A classic bully is a perfect mix of strength, speed, and agility, and believe it or not, friendliness.

I wasn't lumping them in one category with one type of confirmation. I'm aware. A friend of mine works her amstaff, that has some bully lines in her pedigree. But she recognizes it and doesn't confuse it as a "pit". She does dock diving, luring, shows, flyball etc

My american bulldog is coming up on 8 years old and still acts like a puppy. He came up on blue buffalo. We tried several others that resulted in skin rashes and gut problems. Raw seems great, but bagged food is just so damn easy lol.

The minerature maltise is around 13 years old and on blue buffalo. No cloudy eyes or laziness that you would expect in a 13 year old dog. She gets tear stains but after 13 years of fighting that we decided thats just in her genes.

That's what a pit should look like, I couldn't bring my self to snip the ears though, so mine has floppy ears.

A lot of good looking dogs.
I swapped to VICTOR.
He has grown (normal I'm sure)and has become more active (normal I'm sure) due to his age.
But I do feel better about the quality and I feed him 2 x's a day now.
Morning and when I get home.

Just made mine a cheap bootleg "springpole" and he loves it. He wants to stay out there all day tugging on that damn thing.
