I worked in upstream oil and gas as a seismic analyst, but I was laid off in February. I've been looking for work since then.

I have a BS Math, and I'm going to finish an MA Math next May.

I do alloy wheel repair for body shops and dealerships in Houston. Small company just myself and 2 others and we split everything. We stay very busy, people in Houston can't drive for **** apparently. I'm was a painter but shops don't want to pay a painter worth a **** anymore so I've been doing this the last 4 years and couldn't be happier and still do the occasion paint job for people.

Every consider teaching? Math teachers are impossible to find so they are hiring folks with math degrees and using alternative certification routes to help them get their credentials. Many districts are paying stipends for critical shortage areas. The money is OK overall but there are perks with time off, insurance, state retirement, etc.
