Default new to us wheels

We normally run Bogarts in our quest this fall to run 10s NA (cam only) and 9s on nitrous.

However, I get a little nervous with those light wheels and no tread as we do drive the car too. In fact, we're getting ready to take a long road trip with the local Corvette club to Arkansas to visit a national forest and spend all weekend driving. So ... we picked up some Z06 wheels and painted them graphite using DupliColor wheel paint and mounted some inexpensive Kuhmo tires. I wasn't sure about the look of the shorter tires but they're growing on me.

We took advantage of a beautiful cooler day yesterday here in East Texas and went for a Sunday drive through the country. Car rode nicely, everything seemed to be ok.

From the research I've done over the years nothing. They'll live a long time; especially behind an automatic car. Our differential and transmission are bone stock other than the gear and we always 60' 1.5x. They do make stronger half shafts and internal parts of course but we haven't gone there yet. The transmission is a weak link though and one day soon we'll need to address that; I believe we're on borrowed time with it. 3/4 clutch pack seems to be the weak link it it.

Is that because it's a stick?

When we tuned this summer our tuner, who also does many big HP builds, said at the HP I'm making I'll never have an issue with the differential because we have an auto. He did say though that I've already surpassed what the transmission will take.

I would guess the stick cars are way harder on differentials (and everything for that matter) than we are with an auto.

I have heard that too. One day I'd like to put "drive shaft" loops on both sides and better half shafts.
