Couple nice looking cars ya got there.
That 97 T/A is beautiful, nice purchase.

As far as 98 having low oil pressure......I do not think that is true. Mine, nor any of my buddies sit at 20 psi at hot idle. Mine sits at 40 psi at hot idle.

I remember reading it on here when I was looking for why my 98 was low. Of course I can't find that thread now. Maybe I was imagining it, or maybe I read bad info back then.

I did find this...

The right front corner of the block was reinforced in ’99 and there was a deep oil slot added to the back of the block to allow more oil to flow to the right hand lifter galley.
And I was reading that the 98 oil pumps have a greater chance of failing.

I know that both of my 98's hovered below 40PSI, yet both my 00 and 02 hot idled around 55PSI.

The car looks great- I love LT-1's when they haven't been hacked up. I have a few and they are a blast to drive

Word. Should really wake this car up. Good looking 97. My first car was a 95 firebird, red. Brings back some good memories.

Back from the dead pat. Nice to see you're not rocking "bad 347" plates on the sorento too bro. Sierra looks pretty nice

Whats up stranger.... how have you been.? Thanks for the kind words.
My Strano's should be here this week. Looking at either some Koni's or the Bilstein HD's for the "look"... the car rides great as is. FM5's should go on this week.. May sell the WS6 wheels to recoup some $

1998 fbodies had steel gas tanks and use a 1 years design fuel pump and sending unit

1998 fbodies have a fuel cap design that requires a new fuel cap be purchased directly from a GM dealership

1998 ECU is limited in its available flash memory, and to an unskilled tuner not familiar with them, they are very easy to kill. Most experienced tuners won't have any problems with tuning them, however running a maf-less setup probably isn't feasible

1998 cars had a 1 year specific coolant temperature sensor in the cylinder head with 3 prongs

1998 year models displayed coolant, oil pressure, and fuel level, and voltage, as direct feeds into the cluster. All other years the cluster received it's information from the ECU and not the sensors. As a result the 98 years models instrument clusters are specific to 98

1997 and 1998 ls1 blocks (Corvette included as 1997 model) did not have the extra oil drain in the block like 99+ did

There were rumors about weaker bottom end components, and typical rule of thumb on a high mileage 98 is not to rev is far past redline like you would an ls6.

1998 trans ams and firebirds did not suffer from cracked door panels.

1998 and some 99 models still received a plastic jack brace behind the front fender

1998 trans ams received blue mirror glass

1998s received the torsen dif which requires special additives, where as 00+ was auburn
