Default "SAFE TOW" is a scam

they towed all those people's cars in houston, ever since Wednesday even though they weren't blocking traffic and now are charging them out the wazoo to get their cars back. City government says to keep the bill and they will try to get FEMA to reimburse people's towing expense. thats almost fraudulent IMO.

thats the same bullshit system that they enacted to keep the streets "clean and clear" of broken down cars about 6 or 8 months ago, isn't it?

what a bunch of horseshit. they should have suspended it for the storm, or at least have the mayor release all the cars that were towed during the storm.

Since they towed their cars, how are the people coming back going to find them. They should have towed them to the nearest parking lot so people can find them.

but think about this, how much of their stuff left inside the car is going to be there when they get back to it. The yards they tow the vehicles to are very shady. And every scratch and dent on the car "was already there when we towed it".

a bug on the wall hears:
councilman 1 "we should be able to earn alot of revenue off the SAFE TOW progam over the next few days"

coucilman 2 "We should probably give those people a break. alot of them probably aren't even from Harris county and think ther vehicles will be safe on the shoulder."

councilman 1 "NO!!!!!!!!! this program was approved over 6 months ago!!! Besides, we'll get FEMA to pay the bill. then it will be up to the individual to go through the red tape of getting there money back, but we will have ours. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"
