Default Drumming skills!!!!!!!!!!!!!

posted this over on HPD, you guys need to check this kid out...


Anyone who has ever "tried" to play the drums knows where I am coming from.


Kid has skills no two ways about it!

He needs to keep his wrists down and turn those hands over. His over/under grip is good, but his over/over grip is sloppy. He would be MUCH tighter on the rolls if he adjusted that. Excellent rhythm and good control overall.

Years of playing with professional percussionists has spoiled me.

Thats Tony Royster. I actually have the old school VHS tape of that Modern Drummer Festival from way back. Hes just alright in that clip, I'm sure hes improved a lot since then.

kid is bad ***... and he is a lil older now... that vid is about 3-4 years old

I don't hate the kid. I just know too many people with mad skillz who would cringe at some of the fundamentals there. The kid is an amazing drummer, regardless of age. I'm sure Neil Peart doesn't always have perfect stick height either.

damn, kid has awesome skills, playing since like 6th grade and i got nothing on him.

ima freshman at TX ST now. man that kid would own me.

ya when i took my lessons with the good drummers, they just had me sit down and learn my fundamentals over again.
