Default Damn U-joint

So today I installed a new torque arm mount (poly) and a new tranny mount (poly) and re-tightened the bolts on my 12 bolt cause they come loose every week!! The tranny mount was obliverated. So I got all the stuff and and went and drove it. Damn vibration at 60+ So I put the car on the lift and check it out..... play on the rear u-joint. So did my broken tranny mount and worn out torque arm mount cause the u-joint to fail?

Did you leave the shim out of the poly trans mount? The poly is most likely the cause of your vibration.

are you supossed to use that shim??!?! (the energy suspension autozone poly trans mount)

i diddnt use it on mine when i installed it, i'm very pleased with the results of the transmount. feels like it killed alot of wheelhop for me, and i forgot about the vibrations after about 2 days.

You are supposed to leave the shim out on our cars.

I didn't use the shim, by my driveline has some movement in it now. Prolly f*cked it up when I broke the tranny mount and the torque arm mount. Guess its one of those things.

I thought I had the same problem, but there is on thing to try.........

While going 60, put the car in neutral. If the vibration stops, its not Driveshaft/Rear end. When this was my case, I rechecked the Trans Mount, shaved it (Search for it) and the Vibration is nearly gone. The Transmission mount Vibration will vary with Revs, not Speed.

Just a thought.
