Default Which ones to Buy? 17330 275/40R17 Hoosier D.O.T.'s or Nitto NT 555R Drag Radial

275/40R-17 Kumho ASX's have zero grip! I want to burn em up and get either Hoosier DOT's or Nitto's....

I only drive the car less than 500 miles a month... how long will they last on the street??

Also with my "Cobra R' rims... 17's... is a wider tire possible?

Thanks for ya'lls help!

I personaly hav had the Nittos and those are good in the rain. Now I have mickey thompsons Drag radials. These are Nice especially on real hard launches at the track. And on the street. I would have to recoment these. These are made to last a good 20000 miles on them with normal driving.

it says 12-16 psi...for track and 75% of side rating for street.

Also that is the widest they have for a 17 size tire.

Maybe I should go buy some 15 inch wheels... yet i dont like having to take em on and off... and have a drag tire on the street sounds sweet.

If you have the 17x9.5 Cobra R rims, stick with 275/40/17's. Anything wider than that is dangerous. They do make a 17x10.5, which would accomodate 315/35/17, but you might have to do some modifications to your rear fender wells to fit them in, especially if you're lowered.

I'm working on cramming a set of 315/35/17 Goodyear GSD3's into mine right now and it's requiring fender lip rolling and the BFH mod to my inner fender wells. But it's going to be worth it when I get those steam rollers on!

Those tires are NOT meant to last 20K miles. Tread wear rating is 0, nitto drags tread wear is 100 and they last ~8K miles, when you drive them how most owners would. I have never gotten more than ~6K out of nitto drags.

ET streets. And the rummor is that MT drag radials hook just as good as the ET streets at the track, I belive them. These things are so nice at lauch and you dont have to heat them up as long.
