Who Would be down for an OPEN TRACK event? Gathering interest...
I'm interested to see who would make it down to Houston to run an open-track event on (probably) a Sunday. Lets say it's $200 and sometime in late January.
Who's up for it?

If the latter, how many sessions and at what length of time?
Instructors required? I have no passenger seat ... my car is a race ony car ...
Are you allowing anyone to participate? Having seasoned road racers on track with green drivers is inviting a problem ...
I would definitely be interested in this and could probably scrounge up a couple other drivers as well ...
If I were to get a group of say 6 or 8 road racers, could we get our own run group?

basically this is a giant effort with possible *** losing on the money spectrum so it's not gonna happen. not as "easy" as renting out HMP. I'm just going to keep hunting for non-member open track weekends. The MSRH schedule doesn't list them all.

Donamian- Don't be a *****, I know you've never done it, it's not that bad at all, you hardly notice the transition onto the banking. And thinking gets you killed.
Drew, you can't do a track day without atleast one person in the group being a MSR-Houston member.
But I will be a member by this weekend.

I've driven on the banking on TWS (don't ask how - i shouldn't have), but the front straight is nothing compared to the banked parts of the oval. I don't mind going 140 into the turn one, but carying that much speed into the banked section scares me.
I'll be racing at MSRH on 2 wheels early next year. It should be a blast. Here is a link to video that someone did very recently:

I've run a 1:55 in my street car and 1:59 in my CMC car on the 2.9 at TWS ...

$200 entry fee? No way, not unless I could win about $3,000.00. Plus, I would still be working on my car then. Maybe if you moved it down in the spring you would give people time to work on their cars in the winter.
