Question for you Houston folks regarding exhaust and the police. I'm just wondering how many of you have had problems with the police concerning louder exhaust systems. I'm putting on some headers and an x pipe this week and I'm wondering if any of you have gotten tickets for excessive noise, no cats, etc.
Also: If any of you would be willing to help me out with the install...free beer

I ran LT's and ORY with open cutout for a while, never had a problem. Now i have X with bullets (louder!), and so far haven't had problems. it's not a DD though, i only drive it once maybe twice a week and not that much.

Its only on the NW side of town, and only from state troopers, so you dont have much to worry about. Even though its only one state trooper, he works 1960/hwy 6 pretty hard.

Well damn, I live right by 1960 and my girlfriend lives right by highway 6 haha, I guess I'll just have to stop going to the mall area (oh no, big loss! 
) and no problems regarding the cats and such?
I'm excited, always wanted a loud *** muscle car, took me forever just to get the car, now I'm finally getting into the little bonuses that make it all worthwhile

Black Knight got me like 3 months ago. I wasn't even high in the rpm range, cause I saw him, and he turned around to come pull me over. He gave me a ticket for no cats and no inspection. It was at Hwy 6 and west rd. BTW I have an x-pipe with no cats.

How expensive are these tickets? Have any of you switched your setups since getting pulled over due to excessive crap from cops? I'm in the highway 6/1960 area a LOT and this is my daily driver. I'm already dropping my warranty to put these on, but I can't afford to get tickets because of my setup :/

Got pulled over once in my Z71 with no cats true duals thorugh cutouts with stock manifolds but that was cause I was doing about 6K through the stop light cause a stupid bitch cut me off and the light turned yellow while in the middle of the intersection. I have heard of this guy over on the NW side sounds like he really is bad I thought people were jsut exaggerating. BTW I didnt change my setup now I have lts

Edit: I'll just ask you guys who have gotten the tickets straight up, was it worth it? I'm your typical broke *** college student so any tickets are gonna seriously hurt my pocketbook...but it's sounding like it would be worth it from how much people seem to love their exhausts and headers.

Do it man jsut be careful for sure if ur not stupid then most likely you wont get caught every once in a while someone gets caught while minding their own business but it seems more times then not that they get a ticket while doing something like what I did. It is worth it for sure. No problems since the lt's but then again it has been down since 2 weeks after teh lt install since I pulled the motor for the 418. My new setup I will be running my dynatechs with an ORY and 3 inch ecutout and then a corsa sport system so I can tone it down while cruisign but open it when I want it to be loud or race someone. FYI lts+!cats+true duals+x-pipe+cutouts+in-town driving=ticket for sure
