Default My 06 Vette Goes 12.235@115.58!!!

Title and timeslips show it all

This is a bone stock 06 Corvette, Z51, M6 car. Ran last night at HRP. The car is running strong!...Very happy with the times, and this is only my 3rd time with a Manual car at the track.

Would be nice to see 11's!!

Back in Houston now Daren? Good to see you are still around. Those are some of the quickest stock C6 times I've seen so far, nice driving! That 1.84 60' must have been nice on the stock runflats, must have just prepped the track.

What air pressure were you running? How much gas did you have in the car? What did the car weight in at? What did you launch at? What type of burn out did you do or did you just dust off the tires? Did you go through the water box? That is awsome times and impressive for a M6 car. congrats!

Yes Tony, Ive been back in Houston since april of 2004. I just bought a house in Bay Colony (League City).

I Launched at around 2500 RPM, feathered the clutch out for a lil bit, and I just cleaned the tires off. The track prep was OK, not perfect. I also turned traction control and active handling completely off.

The car wieghed in at 3385 with me in it (and im a pig at 250 lb), the low fuel sound went off as i was driving away from the track to go home.

I went around the water box.

And Thanks to all, I am extremely pleased. The first time to the track, all i could muster was a 12.9.

The weather was also perfect at 55 Deg. 20% humidity and only about a 10mph cross wind.

Theres the skinny

That's pretty darn impressive Daren. Good to see you back around man. I'd like to see the new ride.

I'm sure I'll be seeing you at the track soon.

I think was lined up in the staging lanes around you a time or two.

Did i see that guy in the magnum SRT-8 wave you up beside him? What was that thing running? Looked like it was pretty fast for an SUV (or whatever the hell it is lol).

Yea, there were a couple of magnums out there, they were running low 13's, but there was one chrysler 300 with a 100 shot of N20 that I ran that beat me quite handily...he ran a 12.17 to my 12.6 (spun bad off the line, couldnt catch up).
