If Dirk was a ball hog he could do the same, as could Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Tim Duncan, etc... The Lakers are in third place behind the Clippers for a reason.

It's all because the media has made out Kobe to be the bad guy when they should be behind him, as he is the most prolific scorer in his time. There's not a player in the league that can take over a game like he can. I'm the biggest McGrady fan but he's close, like Iverson, Vince and Lebron.
Basketball is a game of adaptation, you ADAPT when you're the leader of your team and your teammates arent shooting well, you ADAPT when there are double teams, you ADAPT when you start getting in a rythmn.
Michael did it back in the nineties and would routinely go for 40-50 and 60 and nobody said anything. People have a negative view of Kobe in their head and therefore want to criticize him, it's human nature. Kobe Byrant is appearing as he is the next Micheal Jordan, and plays the same swingman style in Phil Jackson's prolific triangle offense.
Face it Kobe Bryant is a huge talent, that the NBA needs to ride.

Jordan did it in the playoffs, something Kobe is gonna have a hard time doing this season! If Kobe played for the Mavs I'd quit hating on him

though kobe is indeed a baller.

Jordan looks back and wishes he had the same talent that Kobe has. Kobe's hands are just too small
They average the same assist a game...5.

There's no doubt that Kobe's a baller, can put points on the board, and can take over a game just about anytime he wants. HOWEVER, take a look at his other statistics for the that game
Steals = 3
Blocks = 1
Off. Reb. = 2
Def. Reb.= 4
Assists = 2
Are you kidding me!??? Points alone don't win championships AND that is the reason Kobe WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS JORDAN. Jordan would throw up 50 points AND a double-double or a triple-double to go with those points. Jordan was a ball hog sometimes too, BUT he made the players around him better also. Kobe doesn't know how to lead, he just expects others to follow and it doesn't work that way.
Here's some information just for the hell of it. These are a few stats just from the last three seasons that Lebron has been in the League. These are totals.
Lebron
5006 Points
1276 Assists
1275 Total Rebounds
Kobe
4779 Points
895 Assists
968 Total Rebounds
IMHO, Lebron is the single most impressive player in the League and I think as time goes on he will only continue to get better and will definately surpass Jordan (or anyone else) as the greatest player in history. He's made the Cavs a much better team than they have ever been, if he could only get some help or get with another team that has some ballers.

Big difference tho, Kobe does not have a team around him now, Jordan had the perfect supporting cast.

Jordan's avg assists per game is approximately 1 more than Kobe. So all you have to do is add that up over the course of a season and you will see that Jordan was weigh ahead of Kobe. I honestly don't see how you can put Kobe in the same League as Jordan. Granted, Jordan had several good supporting players, but Kobe had, at one time, the most dominating playing in the league in Shaq and I don't think Kobe shined as a great leader back then. Like I said earlier, they guy can play, but the next Jordan he definately is not. It takes a lot more than just points to stand next to Jordan.
