Default Houston: Good Shop for Duals

Ok, site performance is leaving a bit to be desired... Please ignore the duplicate post.

Looking for a shop in the Houston area that can fab a set of over axel duals for an F-Bod. Any suggestions?

dont know of any but i know for sure that Ripleys exhaust shop claims it does custom exhaust, but the manager himself told me and my buddy with an 02 TA and I with a 02 Z28 that it is "impossible" to do and nobody has done it. BTW the shop is located on 1960 and Kuykendahl.

well since we all know dual exhaust can be done, i guess it kind of ruins Ripley's credibility, doesn't it?

any other suggestions? I guess on the worst case scenario I order all the bends and try to fab it up myself. Just don't like welding on a car 6" above my nose.

deer park muffler.

may be a drive for you but, ive heard a couple td system that they have fabbed and they sound great plus the guys there do a knock out job. muffler shops are a bit finicky when it comes to doing anything that doesnt come oem on the car. ex: td's on camaros or installing ORX's or ORY's because of the fines that they can be charged. you may need to sweet talk them and if youre thinking about going offroad (catless) you may want to through in that the car is a strip car that very seldom sees public roads.

good luck

heard of a couple guys at meets that talk nothing but good things about the place. Might be worth checking out. I went searching for other shops after Ripleys but found no one that could beat the $400 price tag that TSP has on their tru dual set up.

I'll give Deer Park Muffler a call. I've got a set of Jet-Hot cat's I'll need to make provisions for.

I've considered the TSP get up, but after it's all said and done, it will probably cost just as much to get the TSP's over the axel as a custom job, and I have the mufflers already.

Thanks for the leads, keep'em coming.

I prefer Lonestar Muffler on Telephone road you can talk to Dennis who is the owner and see if he can help you or not before you drive over there. Andy although Mark at DP muffler does good work he has a real additude problem sometimes(Last two times.). I know neither of them have a Mandrel bender and so you will have to order the pieces from some place like Summit, Jegs etc... I don't think any sponsers care the bends.

Lone Star Muffler has done it a few times. You should check them out.

I usually keep plenty of 3" mandrel bends handy. 90deg, 45, and 180. If I don't have it. I can get it same day.

Sorry Mike I forgot about all the custom exhaust and FI work you've been doing.
