I have a 10 bolt from a '95 Trans AM with 4.10s
I have never run this diff, but the owner told me it made no noise. He went to a 12 bolt.
It will work in your 98, but the backing plates have to be swapped. It's a non TCS rear.
How does $250 exchange for your toasted diff sound? I need to keep the older style backing plates ...
The diff is located in Ft. Worth, but I have friends trailering cars to Houston this weekend. You can pick the diff up in Alvin late Friday, Saturday or Sunday morning.
Let me know by Wednesday so that I can shuttle the diff to someone headed that way.
