Default WTB: Looking for S10 XCab

I am currently in the market for S10 or Sonoma XCab. I am looking for LS trim with 4cyl and manual shift. I am also looking for <80K miles and the closer to DFW the better. I am wanting to pay cash and stay under $6000.
Thanks.
John

No way dude, mines not for sale! I looked for almost two years before I found this one. Black, EX cab, auto, V6, SLS trim and the ZQ8 suspension

You can find tons of them out there, the body style didn't change hardly at all from 94+. If you are getting a 4 cylinder though I'd highly recommend shopping for 98 and newer. The older 2.2 is a piece of junk with heads that crack and head gaskets that leak all the time. I'd look for a 6 cylinder, tons more power and barely any difference in fuel economy.

Sounds like we are shopping for the same truck. I want the zq8 package myself and xcab. The fuel specs for 4cyl are 23/29 I think in manual. I figured the 6cyl was only good for 20/23. What kind of mileage do you see with yours?

I get 18-22 depending on how traffic is in the mornings. Pretty much all city driving.

I had a 98 4 cyl S10 with the 5 speed and the most it ever got was 24mpg but usually was 21-22. I was carrying an LS1 long block in the bed once and when heading 20 East and taking the 408 exit I had to shift into 3rd gear to pull the hill. I traded it for a full size right after that!

If you never plan on carrying anything in the bed more than 200 pounds then the 4 cylinder is probably fine. The ZQ8 package I think is limited to 500 pounds anyways.

I guess if fuel is that close then getting 6cyl may be the right way to go. I dont plan on carrying alot of weight but I do have a slightly heavy rt foot and if gas is that close then I will appreciate the extra power of the 4.3.
Thanks.
