Default People with tinted windshield (San Antonio inspection)

I have my windshield tinted dark as ****, and what I am wondering is how do they take that in san antonio. Are they dicks about it when you get your car inspected?? How do you freaking do it when they pull out the razor and go to scratch your sticker off??? Where is a good place to go, pm me and let me know please.

Roll the windows down and pull the fuse. Only downside is that you need a nice day to get inspected on.

Someone told me that you don't need side windows to pass inspection (so if they can't roll up it wouldn't matter); I don't know if it's true or not, but it seems a little ridiculous.

The tint on the front window is not suppose to come down farther than like 6 in. from the top of the window. State Law. Dont matter how light it is. If the inspector sees it and is on the legit you have to scrap that tint off right there. Seen tint have to be taken off right in the parking lot b4.

I dont know about all that, but I know lots of people that have tinted windshields and they get their car inspected. But of course that was in houston, and now I am in san antonio with no hookups. Just thought somebody could help me out as to where to go.

I didn't realize you meant the windshield.

If you can find a doctor to write you a letter stating it would be advantageous for you to have dark tint on your vehicle, the DPS will give you a document that allows you to get tint as dark as you want on the vehicle with basically no limitation. You just need to carry it with you in case you get stopped or to get inspected.

See 2.D: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/vi/insp...Window+Tinting

There is a line on the top of the windshield called the "S1" line...if you look from inside the car you will see it on the left and right side of the windshield. No banner or tint is legally allowed below that line. You are going to need one hella of a hookup to get that passed and I don't have a clue how you are going to successfully change out your sticker w/out damaging the tint.

Well I have had it done before, I have had the car for a long time. Also I know it is illegal, I was just wondering if anybody had a hookup or knew where I could get it tinted here in SA because I am new here. In houston I went to one place and the dude asked if it was tinted and I said yeah and he just said cool, I will try not to scratch it. Easy as that, I just wish I could find somebody down here like that. I dont want to take it off but damn looks like I am gonna have to.

This is a 16 year old thread, so I don't think you're going to get much response from the original posters.
