so much for the camaro...
Early saturday morning, i was gonna drop some friends off to get there cars at Fairbanks and 290. So I'm driving along, driving a little fast, but nothing in excess. Then bam, I either hit a patch of oil on the ground, some water in the road or something. It's near some construction, so all I can guess is they were washing something and it ran into the road. I hit the curb, where a crosswalk would be so it's perpendicualar to the road, the wheel came out of my hand and ran into a wall. I also hit a street sign, which f'd up the grille. No one was hurt and no other cars were involved.
The insurance guy is probably coming to look at it tomorrow. I think it's totalled. My friends gf totalled her car and it look like the bumper just kinda fell off, so....
Needs replacing: 3 wheels and tires, front clip, door (or skin?), rocker panel, rear 1/4 panel, and the chassis is tweaked a little. edit: and the k-member is bent.

EDIT: IF ANYONE ASKS FOR ANYTHING OFF OF THE CAR, YOU WILL BE COMPLETELY IGNORED. I DON'T MEAN TO BE AN ******* ABOUT IT, BUT I'VE GOTTEN NUMEROUS PM'S ABOUT PARTS OFF THE CAR, IM NOT READY JUST YET. PLUS SOME PEOPLE (NOT ALL) ONLY SEE THIS AS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR NEW PARTS.

I'm probably going to buy it back anyways if it is a total. Then buy a rolling chassis and swap everything.

damn Ryan. That sucks.
I'd give you a real good probability of it being totalled. My sister's 2000 Camaro was just recently totalled (about a month ago) with less body damage than that. (Her air bags did open up though) Value of the car is fairly low with it being 98 and high mileage, so i'd guess that anything more than about 4500-5000 worth of damage would total it.

Yeah, being a 98 with high mileage, I'll bet they total the car. The repair costs would about equal the car's worth in their books.
If the quarter panel hadn't gotten mangled, the rest of the car would have been an easy fix. Doors, fenders, bumper are cheap parts and can be found used.
