Default How bad is Allen, Texas?

Hey, my wife has this idea to sell our house and buy a mansion in Allen, Texas. How is life there? It looks like there are a lot of technically oriented employment opportunities in Dallas (I'm an IT Director/Software Engineer), which is close by. I'm working my *** off over here in California to make a huge mortgage payment, and the idea of owning a larger house for $0/month is pretty attractive.

I live in McKinney when I am not going to school, which is just north of Allen, and I would have to say it is a very nice place to live. Very close to Dallas and lots of stuff to do.
Funny thing is I just had an aunt and uncle move from California to McKinney and they absolutely LOVE it. It would be a good move imo.

Allen is a nice Area. Ijust left the Dallas area and it is very nice. There is a lot of traffic around the Allen area as you go south into Dallas, but definnitely one of the more favorable areas in the metro vicinity. Lot's of IT jobs around there (Raytheon, Texas Instruments, L3, and many others).

I like the area. My girlfriend's parents live in Lucus. That whole area is growing fast!

I live in Allen and work for Perot Systems (Sys.Admin). I know several guys that moved here from SanDiego and like it. Obviously the weather/beaches are not as nice (), but there's plenty to do, no crime, low traffic (McKinney/Allen/Plano), and were close to Dallas if you like that sort of thing. 1/8-mile track (recently redone) in Denton (20-30min Northwest), and Kennedale (Ft. Worth basically).

If you are looking to buy a house, search house in Twin Creeks. If you want to build, use Centex's website and find where they are building. #1 builder in the state.

Hi John, Simi is between LA and Santa Barbera. It's a nice area and I love my work here, but out here your house payments usually eats half your paycheck. We have enough house equity now that we could own a nice $250,000 3000sqft house outright in Allen.

Simi Valley is short for SLIMEY VALLEY. Simi Valley is the highest place for REPORTED cases of incest in the entire United States, and some say the world. They have over 780 something reported cases of incest to cops by outraged familes, ect.

I used to live near Port Hueneme and that area and i never once went there after hearing that. A girl came to my high school when i lived out there, a transfer. She said she was the daughter of her mother and her mother's brother. She was extremley embarassed.

Haha funny, I've never heard that. Simi Valley, California? It's sort of a ritzy area (compared to the surrounding San Fernando Valley).

Anyway back to Allen, what octane gas is available? How do smog checks work?

Texas is running a 100,000 person per year surplus exchange with California (as of last year). I think they all moved to Collin County.

which either means the sane people are fleeing from the crazies, or the rate of stupidity in texas will be rising.
