That is going to be a huge pain to go to a 4L60E. I agree with Donaimian, the TH400 is the way to go.

Fewer parts to change, less electronics to deal with, parts are cheaper for a TH400, you can keep the same pedals/interior parts.

You can modify the A4 harness for an M6, but doing it the other way around seems difficult.

You wont have to re-flash the PCM when going to a TH400, because the PCM dosent control the shifts.

You can keep the same center console/shift boot

Things off the top of head that you need to change are the shifter, tranny, maybe the driveshaft, crossmember, rear gears (4.10's are waayyy too much) and thats pretty much it.

the 3200 is underrated, it flash's to 3600 as most 3200 vigs do. As far as fast, that is all relative, are you looking for a quater mile time?

i have known cale for about a year now. i have installed all the stuff on the car. he gave you my phone number to contact me.that is a hell of a trans that was built. the swap will consist of swapping the interior wiring harness, motor harness, computer, consoles, transmissions, and steering components inside the car along with the pedals, being the same year cars it will be an even swap with no rewiring. you will prob have to get whomever to retune the car with your tune on the new comp along with adding line pressure for the trans and shift points and the gears unless you want to swap those too.

I second that. I've also known cale for around a year, and that tranny is top notch. A considerable amount of time, effort, and money has gone in to the setup, and it shows in the quality of the drive.

I am not going to do the deal after all. I am just not wanting to do all that work to have a 4L60? I can do a TH400 and save money and have a bulletproof tranny. Thanks for all the opinions though
