They are. I have one and when it gets riled up it doesn't want to quit. Also it always wants to sleep right by you.

also consider a smooth fox terrier. We have had ours about 5 weeks. It is an awesome dog.

That is Rastus. Rough coat, wire hair, what ever you want to call him. Also I would check this site out. It is for a good cause. It is a adoption site for JRT only. http://www.jackrussellrescuesouth.com/

Rastus, OMG that's so funny. I can just imagine having to walk up and down the street calling the dogs name when it gets loose. lmao

You can get them at Traders Village in tomball. I think they were $150-250. My brother got one for $100 but it was mixed with chihuahua.

JRT's are great dogs, a lil hyper at times, and love to play...as one said, they love to sleep RIGHT next to you. I used to party at a friends house, he had a JRT named Sarge.

Sagre used to sleep with me on the couch. He was a fun dog.....I rented a pontoon boat once and took him with us....we were fishing in some pretty shallow water and all of a sudden we hear this big splash.....
So we started looking over the side, and then my buddy mike was like "WERE THE **** IS SARGE?" Well we looked over the edge were the splash came from and there is Sarge swimming down towards a very large Catfish(Water was 4 ft deep and clear.....So Mike lays down on the floor sticks his arm in the water, grabs SArge by the tail and pulls him outta the water.....Ya know that lil bastard started barking as soon as he got out of the water....He wanted that fish more than we did!!

Sorrry for the long post, but Sarge is a great dog....JRT are kewl!!

JRT's are cool dogs, but after reading those adoption descriptions they seem to not like small children very well.

You might also check out some miniature Schnauzers, they are excellent with kids and very mild mannered dogs that love to play.
