Premium only. 87 octane can lead to detonation (not to mention crappy mileage). Detonation can lead to a rod escaping via the hole it will make in your oil pan.

I always run 93.

When I buy gas and its the ethenol blend, I run octane booster. I know it does nothing, but it makes me feel better and it wastes another few bucks.

Open your fuel door. Read the sticker there. To save you time, it says "Premium fuel only".

Yes, our cars have knock sensors, yes, they will remove timing once knock is detected, but you can still damage the tops of your pistons or even rods.

If you are running around on 87 octane, what happens if you suddenly need to romp on the throttle? Detonation happens, that's what. Hell, in this hot weather, you could detonate at part throttle on 87 octane.

Octane boosters are largely snake oil. That means they don't work. This has been tested by car magazines and consumer reports.

Sometimes I alternate a tank of 89 with a tank of 93 in my wife's car because she doesn't ever WOT it. I would never put 87 in it.

shell V-power for the winner! it's 10% ethonal but i've never had a problem, always clean and burns well. also, i use Chevron's fuel system cleaner (techron) every few tanks. my car was ran with midgrade or lower before i bought it, did the techron thing a few times and it imporoved alot more, picked up a little gas mileage also.

93 always...this should be a poll...think it would be 100%
my friend used 87 till he realised it was cheaper to run 93 bc of gas mileage, the retard you get from 87 wasts mileage/efficiency...do i see no reason why to use 87 it costs more for goodness sake...

Damn tight ***! Its only 20 cents more a gallon. On a 15 gallon tank thats only 3 bucks. Eat some ramen noodles once a week instead of buying lunch if you wanna be tight

If you run anything but 93 you'll do nothing but cost yourself more trouble and money in the longrun.
