Default Looking to buy a house in the Arlington / Grand Prarie area - need opinions

Like the title said, I'm looking to buy a house on the outskirts of Dallas, preferably in the Arlington, Grand Prarie, Cedar Hill area. Can anyone tell me some of the nice sub divisions in that area? Any place online I can check out? (I'm still in Afghanistan so online is my only option)

Looking for something pretty spacious, probably in the 200-225K range if possible. Not sure what the houses go for there so any input is appreciated. Thanks guys!

If your looking for a nice area to live dont' move to either of those cities. Look more towards Lewisville, Grapevine, Colleyville, SouthLake/Roanoke, Coppell areas. Grandprarie is kinda ghetto and so are alot of parts in Arlington. The better new areas and homes are in the cities i mentioned.

What branch are you in and what do you do?
Good luck and be safe over there.

P.S,
If you need a loan let me know im a Loan Officer.

I agree....if you don't want to go that far northwest of Dallas...Mansfield is another up and coming area. Good schools, but your gonna pay for them!!

If you need info about the above cities, I know Grapevine/Colleyville/Southlake/Keller like the back of my hand...i grew up there and my parents still live in Southlake!

Zillow appraises really low. but its a good place to start. Realquest is what we use but it costs.

Thanks for the feedback, keep it coming.

The reason I mentioned those cities is because the person that will be staying at/watching the house for me goes to Northwood University in Cedar Hill. It would be nice to have something within a reasonable driving time from the school. Kinda hard to tell that from the maps.

South arlington south of I-20 is a good place and like mentioned before Mansfield.

Zip codes 76001,76002,76018,76017 arlington 76063 mansfield
Mansfield taxes are high though. around 4,000.00 a year but very nice areas.
Hope it helps, good luck and stay safe.

All these areas are with-in 15-20 min. of driving to Cedar hill.

I'am in the A/C business so i drive around to all these areas. These are the nicer areas.

Thanks Gray... it's definitely a challenge when you're stuck looking online. I'll probably be spending some time in TX this fall to look at them in person.

Cedar HIll has gotten kinda "dark" lately so to speak...Govt funding/assistance...Mansfield is nice. If its GP, check out Mira Lago on Joe Pool Lake...Those are nice houses and thereabouts in that price range.

Carrier and Polo..... houses are from 130k-230k. Mostly 2 story... by far the only nice area of GP. which aint sayin much... but Ghetto it is not. Got to N. GP for the Ghetto Or any homes that were built in the 80's!

I thought about moving to GP and wrote it off about 15 minutes after I started. For 250k you can find a MUCH nicer place.

I spent my high school years in Colleyville/Grapevine and yes, its a nice area, but you're surrounded by stuck up pretentious condition white turn your music down don't go over 5mph in the neighborhood type *************. Not sayin they aren't nice people, but most are just pains in the *** as neighbors.

If I was going to buy a nice house in the Dallas area, I'd look in Grapevine, nice parts of Irving, Flower Mound, Lewisville, and the likes. I far prefer north of Dallas as opposed to south of Dallas. With that said I'm 15 minutes directly east of it on Lake Ray Hubbard, which incidently has a nice subdivision being put up right now. I've got my eyes on it myself....

Hit me up if you want any advice or need someone to lay eyes on a house for ya - I'll be happy to help if I can.
