You know almost every light I come to some one is running through the red. And not because they were going to fast but just plane and simple running it because they can. Its sad when you go through a yellow and you know the person behind you had a red and went through but the person behind them also going through.
Some one said that its going to cause more accidents because people trying to stop at yellows and getting rear ended. Well they most likely were going to fast in the first place, should have been slowing down sooner and the car behind them was probably going too fast and following too close and really shouldn't have been trying to make the light anywise. So at least the people doing the wrong things get in the accident and not the poor innocent person that has a GREEN LIGHT.

2 on richmond and none on Westheimer? This is another one of Bill White's money making ideas, up there with mandatory towing.
I am dubious of the "safety" facade this program carries. It is a problem here, no doubt, but 10 ticket generating cameras scattered about the city does not seem like a rational way to increase safety.

pretty simple .. don't run a red light, you won't get a ticket.

haven't seen a final printed version of the ordinance, but if it is like most other states, they will only issue a ticket if the light turns red prior to you entering the intersection.
the last one I received was from downtown Baltimore, MD., as I was rushing to the airport to catch a flight to Atlanta, where my wife had just gone into labor..
the picture they send you with the ticket will show two views .. the first will be you, not yet in the intersection, and the light already red .. the second will you show going through, with the light red.
yes, it sucks to get one .. but it is pretty cut and dried .. just because you didn't do it on purpose doesn't mean that you didn't do it ..
and yes, I agree that one of the main reasons they do it is to generate $$$
