Pappasito's Cantina on 35 just north of 290.
Chuy's on Riverside, 183 and Burnet or Round Rock
Hulla Hutt on Lake Austin Blvd.
El Regio
Curra's Grill
Antonio's Taco at Little Mexico
El Chilito
El Chile Cafe y Cantina
Cilantro's Mexican Restaurant
Sampaio's

Rule of thumb: Always ask the fat people where the good restaurants are located!

No, no, no, and no.

El Arroyo > *
Cerrano's < El Arroyo, but still > everything else

If you go to Chuy's or Pappasito's and think that's good Mexican food, you're missing out.

Theres a good one on the left side of the road going to Pflugerville. Right after the bend(curve), same parking lot of the only night club. They do not even speak english aswell. If I think of the name I will post back again.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

Where is El Arroyo?

I've been to Baby A's both off I-35 and the one off of 183 - very good food.

I was thinking about Chuy's off of 183...

if you want "authentic" mexican food, and not TEX MEX, you HAVE to go to a hole in the wall taqueria. they are everywhere, but they wont be on city search. Some of the best real mexican food out there are at these places. You know the places where they serve Horchata(sp?) as there main beverage

And Walter would know!

Just bustin' your chops "water", I need to take off a few pounds myself.

Definitely echo Chuy's and El Arroyo, although the emphasis would be more on Tex-Mex interpretation rather than straight up authentic.

There's a hole in the wall on I-35, southbound frontage road, just north of HWY 183. I think it's called "Cancun". Just ate there once but it was delicious and they didn't speak a lick of English.
