Default well, got me a project car...

don't kill me... it's an 86 mustang :-)

I couldn't pass this one up for the money!

1986 Mustang GT
with:
5 point rolecage
4.10 gears
stripped interior
traction bars
subframe connectors
emergency cutoff switch
No engine and no tranny. currently weighs about 2000 lbs :partyon:
racing seat

$1500.00

Plans:
Big ugly hood... going away. got the stock hood in my garage.
4 lug to 5 lug conversion. Put my old 17" (8" front 10.5" rear) Cobra R's on there
Dart aluminum block stroked to a 331. 9:1 compression, all forged internals.. balanced and blueprinted spin it to 7500 RPM
Viper t56 spec Transmission
supercharge or twin turbo

Paint it mineral grey and tint the hell out of the windows so the rollbars can't be seen from outside. street legal sleeper and 1/4 mile track monster.

I love starting a new project! That, and it will keep me from turning the c6 into Frankenvette!

I washed it up last night and it is in pretty good shape. There are a few rust spots I need to take care of and I still need to do a bit more cleaning.

Think I'll sand out all the rust spots gets some primer and rattle-can spray paint on it to stop the rusting process until I get it in to maaco for a cheepo paint job. Or should I just let it sit for a few months and not worry about it?

I'll post more pictures later.

Mustang!!!!! That's cool. The majority of the fun is working on the car anyway, and it will be a blast to drive. I wish I had my '55 Chevy back . I sold it for nothing 15 years ago and kick myself every day.

Search around in the Conversions & Hybrids forum, quite a few Mustang Fox-body LSX swaps. Even our other Admin Brains is building an LSX notch right now.

I gotta stick with the blue oval on this one

current engine plan:
331 stroker....
Dart Block - Iron Eagle 302
Machine block, rotating assembly
Eagle forged 4340 crank,rods and SRP pistons/rings 331ci
ARP head bolts ½”
FMS oil Pump
Cometic head gaskets
Gaskets seals
Ford Billet timing chain
Custom Cam
AFR 225 heads
Crane 1.6 7/16 stud
Comp Custom Pushrods
Rocker girdles
Canton pan w/wind tray

Victor 5.0 intake, ProM Maf, 75 MM tb

9:1 CR

NA - expect 310 to the wheels with 9:1 CR. More if I bumped it 11.5:1, but planning on FI.
FI - 600 + rwhp in a 2600 lb car

Shhhhh... Don't tell my C6 what I've got planned. She'll get mad at me and delaminate her top at me again.. :-(

I knew Dave couldn't stay away from the blue oval to long. This project should be alot of fun. That setup would be totally nasty in that car at that weight.
