3.8 v6 Tensioner
Anyone ever changed the belt tensioner on this motor in the F-body? Man who was the engineer behind that one?? Water running throught the part and the little plastic "L"s that break? Just got done changing one on my sisters 98 firebird.

I had to change the tensioner on my 99 3.8l camaro that I now use as a dd. I actually had one of the plastic "L"s break off in the block. Looks like all the years of coolant running through it just ate right through the damn thing. Oh...and not to mention $129.99 for the belt tensioner.

yeah they should have been slapped for using plastic.

$5 at orriellys or pepboy for both.
look in the "HELP" section they come as a pair..

The same engineer that designed the rear main seal housing. Lets not use freeze plugs and see if anyone notices! I've probably broken 20 of those little elbows. GM paid an extra 2 hours labor warranty time to replace it
