Default New pics of the '06 GSXR-1000.

Snapped some pics of the bike yesterday, just getting around to uploading them. Let me know what you think.

So far, I've removed all the warning stickers, the reflectors, and the hideous mud flap/license plate bracket. I fabbed up my own using the existing license plate bracket, looks much better in my opinion. The only other thing I plan on doing is adding a double bubble windshield. The wind is really bad on it, especially at high speeds.

Nice bike. I have been saying I will get a bike next year since 1994. I'll get one next year though.

Very nice bike, now just don't be a squid. Get some frame sliders so to minamize the damage when you drop it or wreck it.

Check out a local board

www.motohouston.com

I am sure there is a gixer board, not sure exactly what it is, just google it...

How much is full coverage on that bike ???? just curious the difference is on a 1000. I have a 06 R6 Raven

http://www.gixxer.com/

Full coverage on a 1 liter for my self was $1.2k for 6 months, Liability was $315.00 6 months threw state farm. 24 years of age, clean record, 05 r1, the 01 r1 is $115.00 6 months liability and I think it was $800.00 for full. Id have to look up records to be exact. Contact Pete threw MotoHouston Jet for a great rate, he can just about beat anyones prices.

Edit: Just let him know Juan Baez sent ya.

Ya I have actually called and talked to Pete and he is the best for rates. Was just wondering what the differece was on his 1K to my 600 on insurance.

I have state farm also, there is no other that will compair to rates, the only go by cc's and not the type of bike.

It looks good, but play on getting harrased by the police. The liscens plate is not in view from behind, It needs to be mounted higher under the fender, where it faces slightly downward.

All you have to do if you dont want anyone to see your plate is stand the bike up!

Actually its Year and CC that matters. Thats why I posted both rates. The 05 and 01 both R1's, however rates are different as the values of the bikes vary. I didnt mean it as a difference on cc.

Pete is the man to see hands down.

Wildbill you are correct, I just thought it was funny so I took it and put it in my sig. That $hit cracked me up when I saw it..

Juan you are exactly correct it is year and cc is what state farm goes by, I forgot that.

I just hope the poster or anyone that is getting a bike,

1 has health insurance and checks to see what it covers as all don't cover bike accidents.

2 gets full coverage insurance, just in case something happens to the bike ie wreck or theft, espcially theft considering it is a very HOT bike to be stolen and wrecked, ie why they are so expensive to have insurance on

3 make sure to wear all gear all the time, no matter how hot it is. Cause the first time you decide to be a squid is when something will happen.

4 stay alive, watch out for the idiots on the road, they WILL RUN YOU OVER. There either picking there nose or on the DAM CELL PHONE.. so be careful

Venkman, similar, but not the same. 600 right?

Thanks all for the compliments. I'm really enjoying the bike. I'm gona invest in the frame sliders because you never know. I had a dream last night that I dropped it and it was all scratched up on the side. Yikes!
