Apparently the LS1tech member mitchntx can get these same struts and shocks for $850 new also (from what he keeps telling me in PM's). So I suggest you all start asking him to buy them for you. After all, he does road race and knows his **** (from what he keeps telling me in PM's).

Nice ...

They're SHOCKS ... not STRUTS.

To keep from screwing up your thread, I corresponded privately. But, you chose differently.

They can be had retail from SLPonline for $1100. www.slponline.com

If you have an SCCA or NASA comp license, they can be had for around $850 ... at least this time last year. I mentioed I road race because you suggested I didn't know the difference between SAs and DAs.

So good luck. Report back how these shocks taste.

Those on the SLP site look more like the single adjustables and not the double. Can't be sure because they do not list the Koni part numbers.

2 of them are shocks and the other 2 are struts because they are mounted INSIDE a spring or coil...and you say you road race?
Have you ever bought a "shock tower brace"?
NO! It is a STRUT tower brace! WHY? Because it's a strut.
EAT THAT

I am sure the average joe does not have a SCCA or NASA license like you and cannot get such a wonderfull discount. The rest of us pay full price. I was just trying to get some money back from a purchace I made before I needed new tires for some new rims I bought but you had to PM me and tell me I'm a schmuck because I spent too much money on something. Why don't you PM everyone who spent more than you on parts and nag them?
Way to keep it classy, Ron Burgandy.

Keep posting. It's becoming quite humorous. Or is this your way to get around TTT posts?

A strut is used where there is no upper A-Arm, like on a 3rd gen F-Car or Mustang. A shock is used when there is, like in 4th gen or in a C5. A strut is a load bearing suspension component ... a shock is not.

The spring over shock is called simply a "coil-over".

Like I said, I kept it private ... you chose differently.

I simply made an offer, that's all. You could have just as easily said "No thanks." and kept your dignity.

I thought since you hadn't had an offer for these in days, it was something ...

FWIW .. the following vendors call it SHOCK Tower Brace ...

www.flp2win.com - Finish Line Performance
www.umiperformance.com - UMI Performance
www.texas-speed.com - Texas Speed and Performance

Shall I go on?

Actually you PM'd me this:
"I would be interested in these shocks. But I could only justify spending about 1/2 of what you are asking. That's not intended to be a low ball offer. But it is reality. Surely you can understand that I would never buy used parts for more than I could buy new."

That is a low ball offer...but not really an offer, more like an insult. And shows that you cannot read a simple post of these items being NEW and under Koni's FULL REPLACEMENT WARRENTY.

Your continued posts are more than humerious...just plain outright idiotic.

And FWIW, these shocks and struts have been spoken for and I am awaiting payment (for my asking price). So your continued involvement is no longer needed. You should understand that you are not the only one that can communicate with PM's.

While you are at it, go ahead and get ahold of all the resellers and manufacturers who call the front struts "struts" and make sure to organize a movement to get the rest of the world to change the name of the strut tower to the shock tower. I am sure that will keep you busy enough not to post in my threads anymore...unless you feel the need to "keep it private"

LOL ... you crack me up.

Yes, that appears to be what I PMed you. Not sure why you took it so personally. It was honest and truthful. It wasn't condescending or spiteful. It was business. You claim to run a small business. It must be REALLY small.

Glad to hear you sold the shocks. Sales is a gift. I hope the new owner reports if he/she ever does try and get Lee Grimes to warrant those shocks.

If I do decide to contact the entire civilized universe about this vastly important SHOCK vs STRUT delima, can I quote you as an authority? I'm sure Steve Spohn, Lou Gigliotti, Brett Rockey, et al will want to double check with you to make sure.

Patrick G: I am awaiting payment. I gave him till Tuesday to say %100 percent.

There is one other member who wants to trade items for this set but like I said, I need the cash for a set of tires.

Mitch: You want to debate? Start your own thread and continue this there.

I really did not want this to continue, but you leave me no choice to respond.

The warranty will be covered by Koni thru their own rules and regulations. Koni requires the receipt to be in the original purchaser’s name, correct? I have the original seller ready to make the receipt out to the buyer of my choosing.

I do run a small business of maintaining, repairing and supervising a little over 400 computers. It keeps me a bit busy and enough money to come in to maintain and upgrade 6 Fbodies.

FWIW: I posted your attempt to low ball me so that everyone here can see what kind of douche you really are. Do you honestly think that anyone in their right mind would take you up on that offer? You can do a simple search here in LS1Tech and see that USED Koni's sell for more than that. Without a receipt or any warranty. AND if you CAN get these high dollar shocks (notice I used shocks as not to offend your GOD), why are you not passing along that savings onto your fellow Fbody members? Maybe because it's business to you and you have the need to make more money leaching off others rather than providing a benefit. Case in point: When I buy parts that I no longer need and a Fbody guy or gal (from any Fbody club) asks publicly or in private if I have a certain part for them, I sell it to them for MUCH LESS than what I paid for it and MUCH LESS than the going price (new or used). A few times, I give it to them for free because I enjoy my good Karma and helping someone out of a jam when I know they are strapped for cash.

If you want to keep name dropping to make yourself feel more important than you really are, do so somewhere else. I am seriously tired of your dribble and your inexperience. Of all the discussions with most of the well known people in the Fbody community, yours has yet to come up.

Best of luck to you in your racing and all your future endeavors.

Why light color. Trying to hide something?

It's entertaining to watch you squeeze into holes you keep digging. So, I will continue.

You didn't quote my PM in order to show me being a douche, rather to try and save what little dignity you had. It was a last gasp in an attempt to **** me off. When it didn't work, you resorted to name calling and Jr. High playground humor.

That is what was funny.

As a mega-business owner with "over 400 computers" you should realize everyone has margin. Staying within that margin makes a business successful or not. Your perception of "low ball" is nothing more than my maintaining a margin. Why would I entertain paying MORE for a product than what I can buy new, off the shelf? And why would I even pay equal to OTS and take a chance on upsetting a supplier/sponsor?

You'd had no public responses in days, so why not make an offer. You kept doing some weird kind TTT. How did I know those PM offers were just rolling in.

I doubt you read any of that. It's Business 101 and I think you might've just skated by that class.

You call it "name dropping" and I call it "click on the icons on the right side of the screen and look".

In all fairness, I did find one shop that called it a "STRUT Tower Brace" ... MTI. So, maybe I can now make you now feel vindicated.

I would hate to think all 400 of your computers were the victims of your wrath for having a bad day.

Like I said ealier ... this is entertaining. So, I encourage you ... keep posting.

Wow...you really are a crazy ****.
Here are more links to help you out with your obsession with the strut/shock issue.
http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/suspension.html
http://www.p-s-t.com/strut.html
http://www.lmperformance.com/4605/1.html
http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com....html?item=157
http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.m...ct_Code=FB4002

and that is from the FIRST page of a GOOGLE SEARCH

I am sorry you just can't move on with your life and except that not everyone thinks like you.
I would be one hell of a bad business man if I tried to lowball everyone and call it "good business". You got called out on it and now you have to keep posting and posting and posting to dig yourself out of a hole. Why would even attemt to make an offer if you can get it for so much cheaper? Maybe because you have a sponser who you have a contract with to use their product and items but you thought you can make some newbie hand over their high dollar stuff just because you "know better" and can get it cheaper?
And what I really can't understand is this:
You keep saying you were doing me a favor by making an offer when you kept seeing me post "TTT". Why not make your "offer" public in the thread? Answer me that..you keep SKATING past that. That would be helping the situation but rather you had something to hide. And you should go back to hiding. I have not lost any dignity in any post here or anywhere else. Why should I lose it to a keyboard cowboy such as yourself?
While you have fun entertaining yourself, you might want to change your posts with the name dropping to actually go to their respective webites so people can click on them like you said you did (Lee Grimes Steve Spohn, Lou Gigliotti, Brett Rockey). Funny I don't see anything there to click on....get to work.
