Default Those of you who bought black cars...

Would you do it again? I am thinking about buying one and am wondering exactly how much of a hassle it is...

Thanks for your thoughts.

I love black on sports cars, and my Formula looks nice, but holy crap what a pain to keep clean and to hide the dents and dings and scratches. Plus the fact that it gets to be a bazillion degrees inside if it has to sit in the sun for any amount of time. Would I buy another black sports car... you bet!

I would'nt get another black car unless i had a garage. If you do then get one. I say that cause they get dirty so fast. But i do really like how they clean up, when you dont have swirls. black is easy to see all the flaws in.

Black cars look great when clean, but I probably wouldn't own another one unless it was a Buick GN. I owned a black 2000 Tahoe, and it absolutely sucked when it came to washing it and keeping it clean.

IF you drive it every day, I'd say no! My car was black once upon a time, and I changed the color the first chance I got.

My last black vehicle was an 02 CC duramax truck. It was a lot of black and hell to keep clean, but I don't have a garage and I have lots of pine trees. To make it worse, parking at work is outdoors and lots of crap in the air from the plant. Everything I have bought since then has been a light color. I would buy black again in a heartbeat if I could garage it.

Black sucks. It's a true pain in the *** to keep clean. You should have a garage to store it in, if not your in trouble. Hell Alex repainted my camaro and I could of had any color and I went back to black. Plain and simple it's sexy as hell! Plus it also helps having my husband being a painter/prepper/bodyman/buffer. LOL

I love black, and it's worth the extra effort to keep it clean to see everyone else's appreciation of it! I have a black 2001 T/A and I just bought a 1999 Tahoe limited which is also black! I'm sure the SUV will be more of a PITA to keep clean due to it's size but DAMN it looks badass clean! My T/A soon will be parked in the garage which makes the whole maintance issue moot for me.

I buy black or orange. Both of my current vehicles are black. It does suck when you wash it and later that day the dust shows up but for about 4 hours they look good!

if you can garage it, and only drive it in nice weather, then yes. if you must DD it, then no.

I just had my car repainted black...I hand waxed it with zaino, was **** about washing it, never let water dry on it, used my own wash cloth never the car wash brushes. 4 months later it has fine scratches and swirls all over it...I give up.

Easy solution here, speaking from experience:

1. Daily driver? HELL NO.
2. No garage? HELL NO.
3. Garage queen, sunny day driver? HELL YES.

Black cars absolutely suck for daily drivers, remember my dually? F-ing rock chips glare out at you, swirl marks, dirty in 10 minutes of driving, tiny scratches/scuffs show up, etc...
