Default Roll Cages and Child Seats

Hey fellow Texans! I am looking at a car that looks to be something I may be interested in buying. The problem? He has a roll cage! Thats fine and all, but with kids it just doesn't seem like something I can have. He took the backseat backs off because they wouldn't fit apparently.

The whole reason I am not going for a Vette right now is because there are no back seats.

Any ideas? What do you guys do? Am I not thinking of everything possible here?

When I had my roll cage in my car I put a car seat back there. You have to twist it in but it did fit. I had to put my nephew back there. I wouldn't do that everyday but I had to one day and it was fine. I had a Wolfe 6pt Bolt in Cage if that helps.

I have the 6pt in my car with no seat backs and it actually gives more room for the car seat. It is OK if they are big enough to crawl in there themselves but it is a pain if you have to bend and twist to get them in the seat.

You have the bottoms in just not the back? I might try that. How secure is the seat in lateral movement.

Me either, but I'm curious how safe it would be to strap the seat down without any rear seat in there at all.

when my Son was born, my only vehicle was my 10-second Formula with a 6-pt rollbar. Luckily, the middle bar was removable and the rest of the cage tucked against the panels tightly (custom cage built by me and a friend). If it had that middle bar though, there is no way in hell I'd have put him back there. One knock on the head and it could kill a child.
