Default For those wanting to fry your turkey...

I know this is SSU material, but I thought yall may want/need this..

DEEP FRY TURKEY

12-14 lb. turkey
36-48 qt. pot
5 gallons lard or peanut oil


SEASONING:


1 bottle Italian dressing
1/8 c. Lea & Perrins
Onion salt
Lemon salt
Garlic salt
Lemon juice
4 tbsp. honey
2 tbsp. brown sugar
Any other seasoning you desire

Heat seasonings on stove until melted down. Then strain. Use a 50cc syringe and insert seasoning liquid into turkey throughout.

For outside of turkey: Season All to taste Rub all over outside and into the cavity. Let sit in refrigerator overnight. Wrap turkey in

for easy handling. Fry turkey in wire harness at 300 to 310 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes. 4 minutes per pound.

I'm waiting to hear how many people burn their houses down this year..usually there are quite a few.

lol we fried our turkey the last 2 years in a row and its really good usually, i think youll enjoy it a lot

did it last year. i just got the cajun~ tony sash seasoning. it was the best turkey i have ever had.

Fried turkey is the only way to go. Tastes the best...nice and juicy.

No, it isn't unhealthy or greasy. I thought the same thing until I tried it.

We'll be doing the same today.

Just make sure the bird is completely thawed and dry. Also SLOWLY drop the bird in the oil.

And if you are concerned, just before you drop the bird in, turn off the burner till the bird is submerged, then reignite.

Last night on the news they said to fry the turkey at 3 minutes per LB at 350 degrees. At 350 degrees the oil flash fries the skin sealing it which keeps the meat from getting greasy.
