Well what do you like? You need to look into something focused around a thing you are passionate for. It is more then making money, but making you happy.

Engineering school. Doesn't matter if it is Chemical, Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical. All of them pay excellent right out of college (currently $50-60K/year avg). Thank me in 5 years when you finish

You have that right, but you better be ready to bust your *** once the core classes come around. Its easier to get a basic law degree than to get an engineering degree from some schools.

+1 on that i have been working on my degree in engineering still havent decided between industrial or mechanical, have a decent idea on what all they entail but if you stop by this thread again nine ball would you be able to tell me what the actual difference between the 2 types are and what types of careers both of them support and such, thanks

I'd pick Mechanical over Industrial. Broader job spectrum, more versatile and can work in all industries and adapt much easier.

Electrical and Mechanical are the long-term best prospects. Chemicals have excellent demand, but a limited job/industry spectrum.

Going to school right now and finishing up with a master's in Accounting in 2010. I've already pre-ordered it and I WILL own a Camaro when they first come out in '09 with a good supportive job. Seems like it's a major thing that drives me to getting good grades in college and wanting that new camaro even more when I graduate

Do what you want to do. Don't pick a major just because you think it's going to pay well.

Man Tony, I kind of feel like i am following in your footsteps (which I don’t see to be a bad thing at all, hah). I studying for Mechanical Engineering and already have a kick *** job in the oil industry while being in college.

Learn to budget your money no matter what you do. I've known people that make 50+ a year and don't have **** to show for it, nothing in savings, no "backup" money, nothing.

I'm still in school, going to get a business degree, but wishing I had started off in engineering. Either way you can make money with both, it just depends on what you are good at, and what you can and are willing to do. Networking is a great tool aswell, the more people you know, the better off you are as far as future job searches, etc.

yea engineering is the way to go..

Im doing aerospace
But its just something i have wanted to be in my whole life

just do what you feel you will have fun with in 10 years..

And if you are doing engineering try to get something set up with a company where they will hire you right outa school or do a contract where they help you out wiht school payments and then they just deduct the cost outof your pay for 5 years..

Im doing something with my dad and the company he is working with its based in russia.. and i will be doing some chemical and some construction stuff.. not much with aerospace but hey the company promissed on paper that they would start me off at 500$ a day tax free but i have to work for them for 3years like i will be set up to work a month on a month off with my dad so we will be traveling together..

anyways

just work hard and you will get what you want
